The Extraordinary Mobile Library and Smart Cart Program help children learn and aspiring entrepreneurs build sustainable livelihoods where support is often hardest to access.
Many children grow up eager to learn but with few books to read or digital resources to explore. At the same time, countless aspiring entrepreneurs have the determination to start a business but lack the tools and guidance to get off the ground.
The PLDT-Smart Foundation is addressing both through two community programs that put education and livelihood within easier reach. Its Extraordinary Mobile Library brings learning resources directly to underserved schools and communities, while the Smart Cart Program helps aspiring microentrepreneurs turn ideas into sustainable sources of income.
The solar-powered mobile library carries books, laptops, tablets, internet connectivity, and digital learning materials to areas where these resources are often difficult to access. Every stop gives children another chance to discover new ideas, build skills, and nurture a love for learning.

The Smart Cart Program supports aspiring business owners through its Equip, Train, Connect framework. Participants receive livelihood carts, entrepreneurship training, digital tools including Smart Retailer Kits and Maya payment solutions, and opportunities to connect with potential markets. The program helps participants build businesses with stronger foundations and better prospects for long-term growth.
Working with partners such as ASA Philippines Foundation, Smart Communications, Maya, Huawei Philippines, FiberHome Philippines, Alagang Kapatid Foundation, and FOTON Philippines, the foundation continues to bring these opportunities to more communities across the country.
Every community has children eager to learn and people working hard to build a better future. Whether it means supporting a local school, mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, or launching a project with your organization or group of friends, even a simple initiative can open doors for others. Sometimes, bringing opportunity a little closer is all it takes to help someone move forward.
