A fresh pack of diapers or a bundle of sanitary pads may seem like an ordinary purchase for many families. For others, they can ease daily worries and help mothers and children get through another day with greater comfort and dignity.
With that goal in mind, JCI Puerto Princesa Kiao rolled out Project Bottoms Up on July 15, bringing much-needed essentials to families and children in Puerto Princesa City.
Through the support of sponsors, partners, and donors, the organization turned over 1,067 diapers to Barangay Sta. Lourdes Health Center and Bahay ni Nanay Orphanage. The diapers will benefit infants visiting the health center for routine immunization, along with the young children being cared for at the orphanage.
The group also donated 400 sanitary pads for mothers visiting the health center and teenage girls at Bahay ni Nanay. Access to basic hygiene supplies helps women and girls feel more comfortable while supporting their everyday well-being.
For the volunteers behind the project, the simple gesture carried a much deeper meaning. Every donation helped lighten the load for families and caregivers while reminding them that their community stands beside them.
Project Bottoms Up showed how a collective effort can answer everyday needs that often go unnoticed. When people, organizations, and businesses come together with a shared purpose, even the most basic items can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
