Efforts to restore coastal ecosystems continue in New Washington, Aklan, where 50,000 mangrove propagules are being planted and nurtured through One Meralco Foundation’s One For Trees program.
The initiative brings together the Pinamuk-an Aquatic Products Producers Association and Aklan State University–College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences to help rehabilitate mangrove areas in the villages of Guinbaliwan and Lawaan. By restoring mangrove forests, the program supports healthier coastal ecosystems while encouraging community participation in environmental conservation.
Since 2021, One Meralco Foundation and its partners have planted and nurtured more than 3 million trees and mangroves across the country.
