When people come together with a shared purpose, even simple acts can create opportunities that last well beyond a single day of volunteering.
That was the idea behind AXA Week for Good 2026, where more than 2,000 employees of AXA Philippines joined activities designed to support communities through livelihood, education, environmental care, and sustainability.
One of the week’s highlights was the launch of “Declutter for a Purpose,” where employees sold pre-loved items and donated the proceeds to help sustain Medinilla Café in Siniloan, Laguna. The café grew out of the company’s forest restoration work with Fostering Education and Environment for Development Inc. (FEED) and aims to provide livelihood opportunities for local residents. Items left unsold will also be donated to partner communities, giving them a second life while reducing waste.
AXA also expanded its partnership with Project PEARLS by supporting community gardens that can help families improve food security while creating additional sources of income.

Aside from volunteer work, employees spent the week learning from nonprofit organizations and sustainability advocates through the Impact for Action Podcast Series. Discussions covered literacy, disaster preparedness, workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and practical ways people can contribute to their communities throughout the year.
Many employees also rolled up their sleeves through activities such as an e-Waste Collection Drive, which gathered used electronic devices for recycling or refurbishment, with proceeds benefiting Project PEARLS. Others volunteered remotely by creating reading activity sheets for children and sharing affordable, nutritious recipes that families can prepare at home.
“Our employees have shown that when people work together with purpose, they can help communities create opportunities that endure,” said Sharon Hernandez, Chief Human Resources Officer of AXA Philippines.
Whether it’s organizing a donation drive, supporting a local livelihood project, or volunteering your time and skills, every community has the potential to start something meaningful. A small effort from one person or one organization can inspire many others to take part and help create lasting change.
